Why $25?

We wanted to make ArtRage available to as wide a range of people as possible. The goal was to create a product that was fun to play with as well as powerful for users who wanted more. We charge such a small amount because we recognise that many users won't be producing professional work or making money from the product, and we want everyone to have a chance to have some fun with ArtRage.

Because ArtRage is digitally downloaded you are not paying for distributor or publisher fees, and almost all of the money you pay is going directly in to further development to make it a better product. We're a small company, so we don't have large overheads that would push the price up.

There are no hidden costs either. When you buy ArtRage, you get ArtRage to use without needing to watch out for subscription fees, additional license costs, or constant upgrade fees. We don't make any money from your personal details, they are kept private and we don't pass your email address on to anyone.

What do you get when you buy ArtRage?

When you purchase ArtRage you get a digital download of the product installer. This installer can be backed up (we recommend you keep a copy of your downloaded installer in case you need to reinstall), and if you lose it we will provide a new one without you needing to make another purchase. You are not purchasing a subscription to ArtRage, so your use of the product is not time limited or requiring additional payments to use once you have purchased it.

ArtRage 2.5 is also available on CD. The ArtRage 2.5 Plus pack includes an 80-page printed manual and additional video and tutorial materials on the CD. Both of these options are available from the purchase page.

Since release ArtRage 2 we have provided a number of bug fixes and feature addition revisions for free.

Can I sell paintings I make in ArtRage?

Absolutely! Any painting you produce in ArtRage is your property and you may do whatever you like with it. The ArtRage license allows commercial use of images produced in the product and Ambient Design has no desire to control any aspect of work produced with the product.

Does ArtRage contain any Spyware?

ArtRage does not contain any Spyware, Adware or any other malware. When you install ArtRage it installs only the application and its supporting data, and in some cases system modules required for functions like thumbnail viewing in folders. The application does not transmit any data to us about you, and only connects to the internet when it is checking for updates, which can be turned off in the Preferences menu.

Is my E-mail address safe?

You betcher! Ambient Design will not onsell the e-mail address with which you purchase ArtRage or use it for unsolicited advertising. Your privacy and security is important to us and we know it can be annoying to receive unsolicited e-mail so you wont receive any from us.

What does the ArtRage Updater do?

The ArtRage Updater checks your version of ArtRage and our server to see if there is a later version available. It does not transmit any personal information and will only connect to the internet when it is launched either by double clicking its icon, or ArtRage checking for updates. It does not run constantly in the background.
